Military Matters 


Attention...Active Duty Military Personnel, PRIOR to registering for the 5G Telemedicine Security Conference, please contact Dr. Paul Young at or 919-592-1689.

We are seeking Active Duty (or National Guard) Military Presenters for us to provide possible Conference Sponsorship. The 5G & Telemedicine Security Conference (5GTSC) IS accepting submissions to be considered for 20-minute presentations at the 5GTSC. Read the following guidelines and submit to speak below. 

Request presenters/speakers from DoD Medical entities with the following relationships to military medicine or engagements:

  • Remote OCONUS Members

  • VMC/VMOC hub & Spoke (Nursing staff, Providers, Medical Device/Equipment Managers)

  • DHA Research & Engineering staff

  • Operational Medicine and Battlefield Trauma / Mobile Medics (IDMTs, PJs, SOF, Navy Seals)

  • Center for the Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills (C-STARS)/ Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT)

  • Medical IT Department Members

Conference Topics to Consider for Presentation Subjects:

  • Relevant Departmental/Medical Service Doctrine and 5G View, Vision, or Feasibility

  • Current AR/VR Programs, Applications, Research, or Activities

  • Medical IT Department Issues/Concerns & Record/Data Management

  • Telemedicine, Telementoring, and Basic Medical Technician Training

  • Third- and Fourth-Party Security Risks

  • Medical Device Security

  • Patient's Role in Security

  • Vulnerability to "Classic" Attacks

  • Emerging Vulnerabilities in Artificial Intelligence

  • Operational Medicine and Battlefield Trauma / Mobile Medical Reach-back Capabilities / Concerns

  • Center for the Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills (C-STARS, MD, OH, NB, MO)/ Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT) roles for Telementoring/remote care and expeditionary engagements; Civilian Partner 5G reach-back opportunities

Papers are Considered in One of Three Categories:

  • Category 1: Social Engineering / Deception (both human & technical)

  • Category 2: Presentations on Technical & Functional topics

  • Category 3: Anything and everything scholarly related to 5G & Telemedicine

Perspectives we seek can include (but are not limited to):

  1. Offensive Security, Penetration Testing, Red Team

  2. Defensive Security, Blue Team, OPSEC

  3. Forensics (Un-Pimp your Bot)

  4. OSInt - Open source security & vulnerabilities

  5. Space-Based, Sea-based & Terrestrial 5G Telemedicine

​DRESS CODE: The dress code for all 5GTSC participants is business casual. For military personnel, your Uniform of the Day is acceptable as well.
